JUNIPER PUBLISHERS- JOURNAL OF GYNECOLOGY AND WOMEN’S HEALTH                              Journal of Gynecology and Women’s Health-Juniper Publishers   Authored by Anne-Kathrin Dathe*   Abstract Preterm infants are at risk for motor and cognitive impairments. After-care programs used to identify these deficits are often performed in toddlers only. However, this does not suffice to detect late onset of motor deficits such as in the reported case. The development of a preterm boy is described from birth at a gestational age of 29.6 with 1425g into preschool age. Postnatal course was unremarkable, MRI at term equivalent and six years showed mild signs of white matter abnormalities (non-hemorrhagic ventricular dilatation). He developed age-appropriately during his first four years. However, impair...

There was no history suggestive of trauma or molestation. Adrenarche or the larche was not present and her height and weight plotted in the growth chart showed normal growth. Investigations revealed no benign or malignant neoplasm of the ovaries or in vagina or cervix. Thyroid stimulating hormone was in the normal range and low levels of luteinising hormone were seen. A coagulation profile revealed raised activated partial thromboplastin time and decreased levels of factor V1. A short course of vitamin K and tranexemic acid was given. The bleeding stopped after 5 days,...
